Animal Rescue

We are in the process of forming Double Forte Animal Rescue, which will (eventually) be a nonprofit animal rescue organization.

For now, we will be focusing on rescuing Great Pyrenees dogs, providing exposure to livestock and training as livestock guardian dogs, and placing them in loving working homes. If a dog “tells us” he or she does not want to be a working dog, we will place the dog in a pet home.

On the personal side, our two house dogs, two indoor cats, two barn cats, and one of our livestock guardian dogs are all rescues. Our horse Dante is also a rescue, and we serve as a foster home for the Arabian Rescue Mission. Caitlin serves on the Board of Directors of the Humane Society of Kent County.
